Write Better Introductions
Start from the demand, not from a memorised quotation or a long background paragraph.
Apply the method
- Use a definition when the term is central.
- Use current or constitutional context when it directly frames the issue.
- Use a brief fact only if it advances the answer.
- For a quoted statement, interpret it before responding.
Self-check
- Does the introduction lead naturally into the body?
- Is it specific to this question?
- Can it be written in under a minute?
